AUTHENTICITY
Every item purchased from Park West Gallery carries a money-back, limited guarantee of authorship and comes with a certificate of authenticity, including the complete description for each work.
We make every attempt to provide the most extensive information on the specifics of all works offered, including (where available): the title, date, medium, image size, edition (tirage) information and any relevant historical or provenance information.
In addition to our full-time staff, Park West Gallery utilizes well-recognized experts and scholars to document and review our collections. Among these are: Joseph Jacobs, noted freelance art writer and critic, Tony Janson, co-author of the “History Of Art,” the most widely used textbook on fine art ever written, and Dr. Eleanor Hight, University of New Hampshire art professor and expert on Russian art.
Our research library includes many rare and out-of-print references. Our research department catalogs each work offered through our gallery and auctions. When our seal is affixed to a Park West Gallery certificate of authenticity, collectors have the assurance that the research was done according to the highest of museum and/or international auction standards.
Appraisal Methods & Fees
Park West Gallery appraisals solely represent our opinion of the replacement value of the work. In making this determination, we rely on many factors including the condition of the artwork, gallery prices of reputable art galleries, and other reliable price data and lists. We do not rely on third party auction prices or internet prices.
Park West Gallery Appraisals are available and recommended for insurance purposes. The cost for appraisals is $35 US for the first work appraised, and $15 US for each additional work appraised at the same time.
We do not issue refunds if another appraiser or source has a different opinion than ours. Park West assumes no liability or responsibility for errors or omissions in connection with its appraisals. We do not assume and we disclaim any liability for: (i) insurance denials or losses, or (ii) claims for refunds or money damages based on a claim that our appraised value is too high, too low or otherwise inaccurate.
The most effective method of assuring an efficient and accurate appraisal is to submit a copy of your invoice(s). If that is not possible, the description and registration numbers for the works will help to assure accurate and prompt service.
Appraisals will be mailed within eight weeks from the date they were requested. If the appraisals do not arrive at the address provided within eight weeks, our only obligation is to mail the appraisals within eight weeks of receipt of written notice by registered or certified mail, from the purchaser, that the appraisals have not been received.
